Hi my name is Maya, I'm 12 years old and I'm concerned about the way we use and dispose of plastics without a thought of how it affects the environment.

I went on holiday to Croatia and we visited some remote islands only accessible by boat, on one island we found a whole load of plastic and rubbish washed into the cove, it was terrible. This plastic stays in the sea forever, and kills sealife.

We must stop using it and casually throwing it away, before it's too late.
